Course Structure Overview
Days 1 & 2: Foundational Knowledge and Skill Development The course begins by introducing you to the VTCT Level 4 Microblading qualification, with an overview of the program objectives, learning outcomes, and professional expectations. Uniforms and kits are distributed to prepare participants for hands-on training.
The theoretical component covers essential topics such as Health and Safety, Client Care and Advanced Consultations, Skin Anatomy and Physiology, Hygiene, Product Knowledge, and Tools.
Following the theoretical sessions, you will familiarise yourself with your brand new
microblading kits, including pigments and tools, and will begin stroke practice. Stroke techniques are first developed on paper and pencil to build precision and hand control, before transitioning to practice on synthetic materials such as latex skin.
The session will end with a tutor-led demonstration, where the tutor will showcase the entire microblading process step-by-step, including the theory of Eyebrow Mapping, which you will then practice on day 3. This will ensure you have a clear understanding of how to combine all the theoretical and practical elements in a real - world setting.
By the end of Day 2, you will have a strong grounding in microblading theory and foundational practical skills, preparing you for the transition to live model work.
Days 3 & 4: Practical Application and Live Model Experience
Building on the foundational knowledge, Days 3 and 4 focus on the practical aspects of microblading. You will further practice eyebrow mapping techniques, including the use of the golden ratio method to create balanced and symmetrical eyebrow designs. This will be practiced in pairs with your classmates, providing hands-on experience with shaping and mapping techniques.
Once confident in mapping, you will move on to live model practice. Each student
will complete two live model sessions under the direct supervision of an instructor.
These sessions will allow you to:
Apply the theoretical and practical knowledge acquired.
Gain real-world experience working with clients.
Build confidence in performing treatments to a high standard.
Between live model sessions, you will have the opportunity to further refine your technique by practicing on latex, addressing any areas for improvement and honing your precision and consistency.
By the conclusion of Day 4, you will have completed two live model procedures and
will be thoroughly prepared to progress to the independent case study stage.
Independent Case Studies
Upon completing the in-class training, you will move to the case study phase, which
is designed to bridge the gap between guided learning and independent practice.
You will be required to perform four case studies at your own pace, in your own
professional environment (e.g., studio, spa, or home setup).
Assessments: Theory and Practical Evaluation
The final stage of the course involves finishing both a theory assessment and
a practical evaluation:
Theory Assessment: A formal examination to demonstrate a thorough
understanding of health and safety protocols, skin anatomy, healing
processes, hygiene standards, and client care.
Practical Assessment: An observed microblading procedure on a model,
graded to ensure the participant meets professional standards.
Both assessments will be scheduled in consultation with the tutor.
To Obtain VTCT Level 4 Certificate in Microblading, Students Must Complete 5

Anatomy and physiology for microblading techniques
Eyebrow shaping services
